Level 3 Advanced Gym Instructor Course

This is the main award at Level 3 and the main qualification employers now seek. It allows access onto REPS at Level 3 in a Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer role.

The course is both nationally and internationally recognised.

Course Fee

Deposit of £132 followed by 4 monthly payments of £132 OR just £630 if a one off payment is made. Credit card payments will incur a 2% surcharge.

The course fee is fully inclusive of: registration, all home study resources, unlimited tutor support and advice, assessment and certification.

You will be given feedback and your results of both the theory and practical on assessment day!

Qualification Summary

The OCR Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Fitness Instructing (Gym) has been developed to prepare candidates to work effectively at Level 3 in an advanced instructor role.

The qualification consists of three advanced units in:

- Advanced Exercise and Fitness Knowledge
- Advanced Resistance Training
- Advanced Cardiovascular Training

Who should do this course?

Stability Ball Session

This qualification is aimed at candidates who have successfully achieved the OCR Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Exercise and Fitness, or a comparable Level 2 industry award.

The knowledge required for Level 3 builds on Level 2 achievements and provides evidence of an individual's competence in instructing at an advanced level.

The successful completion of the Level 3 qualification will allow access to the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 3.

The qualification has been developed by the Sector Skills Council, SkillsActive in collaboration with Awarding Bodies to reflect modern practices in instructing within a gym at an advanced level.

Course Format

You can start the Advanced Gym Instructor course at any time. There is approximately 80 hours of home study followed by 2 days assessment.

Entry Requirements

Students must hold a current O.C.R or YMCA Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym).
Students must be 18 or over.

Assessment

Unit 1 is assessed via a 1 hour multiple choice test paper.

Units 2 and 3 are assessed via a case study and a 30 minute practical assessment.
